The value of a recce.

I was asked recently to look for shots of iconic Britain that can be used as projections. The client suggested Tower Bridge and Piccadilly Circus as possible first ports of call so I shot into town to do a quick recce, you'd think that shooting Picadilly Circus and the Tower of London would be pretty straight forward with probably no need for a recce but have a look at the recce shots and you'll see why going down to check a location before shooting is always a good idea.. It turns out Tower Bridge is having a re-vamp with scaffolding on the bridge and Piccadilly Circus is having paving work both of which are all being done for the influx of tourists in the summer, it looks like these are shots for later in the year but I'm definitelty glad I took a look at them before shooting.
